This is a good way for a band to start off their career. A really good debut
album followed by an even better second album.
This record starts off with Whole Lotta Love a strong rockin' tune that
would soon become a rock anthem. It features some really good guitar riffs by
Jimmy Page along with some cool slide guitar. It is then followed by What Is And
Should Never Be a song that I feel set the stage for others to follow
with a tune that starts off sweet and mellow and concludes with hard core rock.
The next two songs slows down the beat but still lets the listener know that
Led is for real and here to stay. Then to shock everyone into believing that
this is a rock album they come out with Heart Breaker and Living Loving
Maid which go very well together.
Ramble On gives us a taste of J. R. R. Tolkien and slows the beat down
again just to keep us on own toes.
The disc ends with two great rock tunes one featuring the late great Bonzo on a
nice drum solo.
Overall I once again give these guys a strong A. This is my third
favorite Zep album so it goes to show that they will get better with time.
